Who doesn't love Thomas & O'Brien?  Really....  I always root for the bad guys.  When I was a kid, I preferred Nellie Olson over Half Pint.  The Joker is far more interesting than Batman.  This speaks volumes about my personality....

Giveaway: One Sheet Wonder Packs

I have two 15-sheet packs of Couture Cardstock's "One Sheet Wonder" to give away to two lucky readers.   If you're a fan of Copics or alcohol inks, you'll certainly want to get your hands on this truly wondrous cardstock.  This heavyweight (90 - 120 pound) cardstock has a uniquely smooth finish specifically suited to alcohol inks. 

Most cardstocks tend to deteriorate when uheavy amounts of alcohol inks are applied.  If you've ever used Copics, you know that after you swirl it around a while, it will eventually start to bleed through your paper.  "One Sheet Wonder" is specifically designed to stand up to the alcohol ink.  After you color in your design, you can flip the paper over & you won't see any bleed through.  This allows you to use the cardstock as your card base -- thus the name "One Sheet Wonder".

My pal Suni recently placed an order through Couture Cardstock & they included a couple of additional packs in her order.  She's given them to me to pass on to the winners of this giveaway.

Giveaway: "Welcome to Boingville" Books

I have two signed copies of a wonderful children's book, Welcome to Boingville by Romeo, to give away to two lucky winners.  Each book includes a read-along CD and a music CD (which my oldest daughter LOVES).

Giveaway: "Green Is The New Black" Book by Tamsin Blanchard

 

Back in February, I received a goody box from the ever-so-sweet Jennifer Pooley at Harper Collins.  Jennifer has sponsored several of my giveaways (The Leisure Seeker, The Girl From Charnelle, Summer at Tiffany).  Included in the box with The Leisure Seeker giveaway was a little surprise for me -- 5 copies of Tamsin Blanchard's Green Is The New Black.  I finally had time to read The Leisure Seeker and grab the next pile on my worktable. 

Since I knew I wasn't going to have a spare moment to do the research on this new book (darn baby!), I tapped Suni to check into it for me.  This is what she had to say:

I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that dressing in an ecologically responsible manner sounds dowdy and drab. My mind started to change when I saw that the most recent winner of Project Runway, Leanne Marshall, tries to stick with eco-friendly fabrics. Her clothes were AMAZING and not the Happy Hippy look at all. So, when Korie told me about Tamsin Blanchard's book Green Is the New Black:  How to Change the World with Style, I was intrigued. I did a little looking around, and now I can't wait to read this book.

Green is the New Black, while written by an English fashion journalist, looks to be fairly universal in it's advice. Vogue and Vanity Fair both raved about the book, which includes advice on not only finding new green choices for your wardrobe, but also reusing and reinventing pieces you already own. With tips on fair trades fashion lines, as well as what basics you should invest in for a lifetimes use, I really think this book has something of value for just about anyone looking to feel good about looking good.

Giveaway: The Leisure Seeker by Michael Zadoorian

Harper Collins Editor Jennifer Pooley has come through again, sending seven copies of Michael Zadoorian's new book, "The Leisure Seeker", to give away to my readers!

This looks to be a fabulous book and the movie rights have been picked up already!  Here's the review from Publishers Weekly:

In this affecting road novel, an elderly married couple leave their Detroit home and take off in their camper for one last adventure together. Ella Robina has more health problems than a third world country, and her husband, John, is suffering from progressive dementia. The ultimate decision Ella makes might seem life affirming to some and a callous betrayal to others, but its impossible to deny that Ella's wise, feisty voice turns what could be a sappy melodrama into an authentic and funny love story.
