For the past few years, hubby and the girls have been building leprechaun traps for Saint Patrick's Day, hoping to catch one of the wee folk as they visit our home. When we catch one we'll be rich! Rich, I say! Baby G. wants to spend her gold on a trip to Paris.
Last year's trap involved a spring-loaded rubber band trap door. Love the rainbow entryway.
This year's version was built this week and consists of an oatmeal container, cording, mouse trap, styrofoam ball and wooden plaque:
See, the greedy leprechauns wil be attracted to the jewels. They will accidentally step on the mousetrap (which is set backwards, rest assured no leprechauns will be hurt in this process -- no need to call the ASPCL) and it will set, causing the cording to pull the styrofoam ball to the front of the tube.
It works like magic!
