If you're looking to expand your papercrafting skills and live in the D.C. area, you're in for quite a treat over the next couple of months. Take advantage of some of the amazing teachers coming to our area and sign up for a papercrafting class:
Claudine Hellmuth, mixed media collage artist, will be at Angela's Happy Stamper in Reston, VA on February 21st to teach Mixed Media Madness. She'll stick around in the afternoon to sign books and meet Angela's customers.
Fabric Artist Extraordinairre (and editor of Cloth, Paper, Scissors), Lesley Riley, will also be at Angela's on February 21st to introduce a hot new product called Lutradur. Lutradur is apparently a fantastic mix of cloth and paper. I haven't played with the stuff before, but I'm dying to get my hands on it. She's teaching a Lutradur Mini Book workshop in the afternoon.
Cheryl Moote of Moote Points will be at Angela's the weekend of April 18th & 19th for two days of classes. I bought Cheryl's book "Sleight of Binding" years ago & it is still one of my favorite bookbinding books. Click here to see some of the amazing work she does.
The divine Carole Wingert will be at The Queen's Ink in Savage, MD on various days in January. Carole is from my old stomping grounds in Arizona, so we're incredibly lucky to have her talents on our coast. I've never taken one of Carole's classes, but I have several friends who swear by her on-line kits.
I expect that some of these classes will sell out right away, so sign up quickly!
Man I must be on the wrong email list or something. I would have loved to have taken a class by Claudine Hellmuth. Oh well... How have you been?
