I am well known for my half-ass handmade gifts. I have the best intentions and I start the gift well before the recipient's birthday/anniversary/baby, but then I get distracted by life/baby/classes/on-line orders and never finish it. (Holy Spice, if you're reading this, I promise that your mini book I started when you received your PhD in 2003 will get finished this year. I swear!)
Back in early 2007, I ordered a custom stamp for my Mom for Mother's Day. My goal was to make cute little wine tags for her to attach to bottles of wine when she gives them as guests. My mom is a wine freak -- perfect gift, no? Well, I received the stamp in February. Mother's Day is in May. I'm good to go. So, two days before Mother's Day, I remember that I forgot to make the stupid wine tags. I sent my mom a nice card describing the gift that she would receive in a couple of short weeks.
Ahem....
Yeah...
So, now it is September 2008, and that damn stamp is still in my "unfinished projects" cupboard. I haven't made a single tag.
I pulled the stamp out today & I've been feverishly working on making her some cute tags. (Note: The stamp has their last name in the middle and their full names around the edge -- since I prefer to protect my family's privacy, I've had to block the names out, but the stamp as a whole is really cute!)
All of these tags were made using regular shipping tags (purchased at Staples) & scrap paper (click here to see how I organize my scraps so that I can quickly access them). Everyone who know me knows that I'm an absolute whore for the Marvy scalloped punches and my Fiskars "Threading Water" punch. Love 'em!
If you're working on some of your unfinished projects today, send me a picture & I'll post it for everyone to see!
Ok, I got the biggest chuckle out of this because I have a TON of unfinished stuff! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone and I WILL get to it...someday!

I am going to HAVE to get going with your Finish It Friday...what a great idea! I have not only tons of paper projects, but bins of sewing goodies I have never finished! For instance a fleece reindeer scarf and matching hat that was to be made for a 2 year old...he's 10 now...too late! And I love your scrap paper storage idea, too! The wine tags are really nice!!!
