Special Notice: Vacation

Just a quick note to let you know that I'll be on vacation for the next two weeks.  Depending on the WiFi availability in the Wisconsin Dells, I may or may not be able to update the website.  I'm hoping to do a little paper craft exploring while I'm there (my husband is less than thrilled.....), so I might be able to dig up some new treasures!

All T-shirt orders will be promptly sent out upon my return mid-September.

New Class: Be Merry Holiday Organizer

Don't let the holidays pass you by this year!  Get started early with your very own holiday organizer.  We'll make this beautiful book using Basic Grey Blitzen papers, Bazzill cardstock, ribbons, hand stamped images and a ton of gorgeous embellishments.  I will provide pre-printed calendar pages and planning pages for each section of the book (calendar, gifts, cards, meals, celebrations, etc.).  At the end of class, you can toss the book in your purse & you're ready for the holiday season!

This class will be taught at Rubber Chicken Stamp Art in Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday, September 30th and Cami's Paperie in Purcellville, VA on Sunday, October 22nd.  I just e-mailed the info to the stores, so give them time to get it on their websites.  See you there!

This Week at AC Moore (August 30 - September 5)

This week's AC Moore ad is chock full of goodies.  Take a look:

• The standard 40% off coupon is actually 50% off this week!  Get yours by clicking here.
• 12" x 12" memory paper (regularly priced at $0.50/sheet) is only $0.22/sheet.  AC Moore actually has some decent paper (unlike Michaels).
• According to the ad, AC Moore is now carrying Jet Max cubes that look like the Crop-In-Style cubes for storage.  These are the same cubes Target was briefly selling.  I'm not sure if they are the same size of the CIS cubes (which I have in my studio and LOVE).  According to the ad, they are only $24.99 this week, but are regularly $39.99.  Target normally sells them for $27.99, but from what I here, most of the Targets have discontinued the item.  Has anyone seen them at the local AC Moores?  Does anyone know how they measure up to the CIS cubes?

I regularly read Angie Pedersen's blog because she really has her finger on the pulse of the paper arts community.  I found this tidbit on her site early this morning:  Classy Scrapper Magazine's premiere magazine is free to all residents of the U.S. and Canada.  Just e-mail them & send them your name/address.  Your March/April 2007 issue will arrive next year.  Subscriptions will be available after that.  Pretty cool!

Sale at Cami's Paperie

One of my favorite paper arts stores, Cami's Paperie, is having a "beat the heat" sale on selected merchandise. If you've never been out to Cami's store in Purcellville, it is certainly worth the drive.  She has what is, hands down, the best selection of large size papers (perfect for book covers!) in the D.C. area.  Why not check it out & take advantage of the following deals:

• August 22 - 26:  20% off all ribbon and all metal embellishments (speaking of ribbon, she has an AMAZING selection of ribbon!).  Metal embellishments include brads, eyelets, buckles, clips, etc.)  Please note that Cami's is closed on August 23 & 24th.

Two Spots Added to the By The Sea Journal Class

(Added 8/26/06 - Both added spots have been taken!  E-mail me if you're interested & I may possibly teach it again!)  Both classes of my "By The Sea" Journal class at Cami's Paperie are sold out.  As I will not teach this class again this year, I've decided to add two additional seats to the class taught this Sunday, August 27th.  Sign up as soon as possible, as they will sell out quickly!  The store is closed this Wednesday & Thursday (say a quick prayer for Camille & her family as her sister undergoes surgery today), but you can sign up on-line.  Hope to see you Sunday!

NEW CLASS: The Women Who Went Before You Gallery Card

I made this piece for my daughter’s first birthday time capsule as a tribute to all of the strong women in our family. As the most recent descendant in a line of independent women, I wanted her to see the faces of the women who went before her.

Nine frames pop out of this amazing gallery card made from a single sheet of paper. You may bring your own wallet-sized copies of photos or use my relatives as your own “faux family” while you learn the technique. You’ll most certainly duplicate this card again & again!

Save $$ on your Red Line Tape!

Run.  Don't walk.  Run yourself right over to the La De Da Designs website because they have big rolls of red-line tape on sale.  Big time on sale.

 

You can get 36 yards of 1" wide red line tape (also called Terrifically Tacky Tape in some circles) for $15.00!     15.00!!!  This is a huge find!

I use this tape in almost all of my book classes.  Hands down, it is my favorite craft adhesive.  So... go!  Why are you still here?
