We had already planned a monkey-themed birthday party for Baby A's second birthday when I discovered a way to make jungle vines from cardstock and brown paper bags in an old issue of Family Fun magazine (a must have read if you have kids!). Perfect! I immediately ripped the page from the magazine and handed it to my hubby.
Although time consuming, this project is relatively cheap and easy. Here's the "how to":
1. Gather your supplies:
1 large package of lunch-bag sized brown paper bags
Hot glue gun
Paper trimmer (optional)
6. Use your scissors to cut the long bags in half. It is easier to fold them before you cut.
11. Use your paper trimmer (or scissors) to create thin strips of 12" cardstock. Wrap these strips (one at a time) around your pencil to create tendrils. Use your hot glue gun to attach these to your leaves (at the top, near the stem).
You're done! My hubby used hot glue to attach each of the vines to one long vine to create a curtain.
Happy 2nd birthday Baby Girl!
