My Do It/Did It Rolodex sits front & center in my studio and I love looking at it, but I haven't added new cards to it in over a year. I have looooong lists of cards I want to add, but I haven't found time to work on it. I've decided that I'm going to try to crank out a handful of cards each week and (little by little) I will eventually get through my list. I'm not putting any artistic touches to them ... a punch here and there... and (of course) ribbons. Not each card needs to be a masterpiece.
So, here are the four I completed this week:
We are huge fans of state parks. A lady at the DMV (gotta love small towns) recommended that we take the kids to Cowan's Gap State Park in Pennsylvania. Maybe this summer.....
I had this on my list two years ago. I finally finished the card this week and then was dismayed to learn that Tavern on the Green closed in the Fall of 2009. It is now the Visitor's Center for Central Park. However, I'm keeping the card because it now hosts a large selection of gourmet food carts. Although I won't be able to sit in the famous Crystal Room, I can still dine on Turkish tacos, Chinese dumplings and frou-frou ice creams.
I'm a huge fan of Sark. I have her poem "How To Really Love A Child" hanging on my inspiration board right above my little pink desk ("Say yes as often as possible"). Most of my readers are familiar with "How To Be An Artist". Two of her books, Succulent Wild Woman and Sark's New Creative Companion, inspire me when I need a little pick me up. I'm dying to pick up Juicy Pens, Thirsty Paper. Have any of you read this one?
Now... I'm off to start a new batch of Do It/Did It cards!
